Life with Rebel

War horse

October 1, 2015

Hi all. I am now home with my two boys after riding Rebel today. I clipped him for the first time yesterday, and as a newbie I spend nearly two hours… He is 15.2!!!!! I was covered in hair and could barely breath, but he looks so much better now. I could see I missed a spot or two so need to go over him again, but I´m pleased with my virgin-clip. Even his little face has been clipped but then Howie said it looked like I butchered him. Well well, a war horse is also a horse.

I though he was going to be even more hyper to ride today, but he was not bad at all. I felt very confident and wanted to jump just on my own. I popped him over cross poles, then a v-shape over a straight, then I popped a tiny grid finishing with jumping nearly 1 meter. (It was 97 cm!!!)

He felt sooo great and just took me to each jump, taking off at any stride. We got too close once so he nearly jumped me out of the saddle, but I rode him even more the next time and we hit it perfectly. It felt so great just being us two, jumping the height I felt comfortable with. I gave him good old snuggle and loads of food.

Nikki is looking after him tomorrow, so I can for the first time since April, spend the whole afternoon in the house. Ida and Cato are flying in to Edinburgh tomorrow, and I just want to have a few things sorted before then ♥

Haha, I just had to add this photo. He probably thinks I am so boring.
